5 Bathroom Upgrades Worth the Investment

5 Bathroom Ugrades Worth the Investment

Though it may be the smallest room in your home, the bathroom is a very important space. You start and end your day in this room that can cause frustration with chaotic clutter or provide you with a sense of serenity and peace. If your bathroom is not adding value, it may be time for a remodel. Here are five bathroom upgrades we believe are worth the investment.

Storage

Are there products overflowing your sink due to lack of storage? Take advantage of vertical space and take your cabinetry up the wall. There are fantastic designs depending on your style. Not a fan of built in cabinets? Include a unique piece of furniture- like an antique armoire. You can keep your personality and have a space for towels and bathroom products! Prefer to see everything? Then open shelving is for you. All are great solutions that will keep away the clutter.

Faucet

Whether you are planning on remodeling the entire bathroom or not, a new faucet can be a very simple addition that adds a lot of value. Do you have a crusty old faucet from a few decades ago? Is it dingy and makes you a little nervous to brush your teeth? Maybe you just want a beautiful new piece to make the bathroom pop. If this is the only bathroom project you want to undertake, you could even do it yourself pretty easily. If you are remodeling your bathroom this is a great consideration!

Tile

You can bring your bathroom to life with tile. It can brighten a space immediately. With smaller tiles and textured tiles you can easily make this room stand out. Work with your contractor to decide where you would like tile and which design suits your personality the best. Bathrooms aren't just for white anymore. They are a place for bold and exotic patterns.

Lighting

Bathrooms traditionally have less natural light. If your bathroom is on an outside wall, you can add a window in the shower. This provides two functions. Bathrooms can become susceptible to mildew because of poor ventilation. Though you can solve this with a fan, a window can also be a great alternative. Work with your contractor for the right type of window to provide privacy and functionality. Adding extra lighting and bulbs that provide flattering light in the bathroom is also a great idea. Walking into a poorly lit bathroom is not inviting for homeowners or guests.

Glamorous Bathroom Experience

This last one is more for homeowners that want to turn their bathroom into a paradise. Not all of these are going to be with your time and money. However, sometimes it is nice to splurge on upgrades that are going to make your bathroom a haven for peace and tranquility.Deluxe shower, Music and electronic upgrades, Heated floors, Wet room with shower and freestanding tub. There are so many ideas for adding that special something. Talk to your contractor to see what makes the most sense for you.
